Real Journeyman™ Electricians Donate Truck to Lafayette Habitat

The Real Journeyman™ electricians of the IBEW Local 668 waned to donate their used truck to Lafayette’s Habitat for Humanity. The truck was still in very good working order with the exception of a slipping transmission. That last problem was remedied with a generous donation of parts and labor from Twin City Dodge. On the morning of Thursday May 29 with the repair work completed, Lafayette Habitat director Doug Taylor arrived at Twin City Dodge to pick up their donated truck.

On hand for the truck sign-over in addition to Habit’s Doug Taylor, were Twin City Dodge owner Nate Barrett and IBEW local 668 business manager Jim Ogden. “At least half of our local Habitat houses have had their wiring work donate by local union electricians”, says Doug Taylor, “and now we especially appreciate the donation of their former truck.”. The 2000 Dodge Ram pickup will be used to replace the ailing old Ford truck that Habitat had been using. When approached about donating the needed work, Nate Barrett was glad to help. “We’re glad to be able to help Habit to do the great work they perform in our community”, said Barrett.
