Solar Projects are Here!

Local 668 has a number of large Industrial solar projects that will need manpower over the course of the next few years and possibly longer! 

 

Job duties will include, but not limited to:

 

  • material handling

  •  assembly of solar panel posts and brackets

  •  installing solar panels

  • and assisting Journeyman electricians

 

                                             We are looking for individuals who are:

 

  • 18 years of age or older

  •  be able to lift over 50 lbs

  • like working outside

  •  can pass a drug test

  •  has reliable transportation.

It Is The Mission Of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and The National Contractors Association of Lafayette Indiana  To Train and Educate Our Industry and Customers. Work Outlook

 

We Currently have 2 Contractors needing Journeymen. The project is WSP in Cass county. Working hours are 7am - 5:30pm, Monday - Saturday. Log in and bid on this website or call the jobline after 5pm -

SIA end of the year Outage - This years outage is expected to last about 7 days  - manpower needs so far look to be in the 15 to 20 journeymen range. We will update as the news comes in.

Other construction projects  - New Lafayette Justice center. Logansport Intermediate School. Purdue University projects.

Local 668 and our sister locals will have multiple large industrial solar projects starting now and continuing on for the foreseeable future! Counties that these projects will be constructed in are - Boone, Cass, Clinton, Jasper, Pulaski, and White. These jobs will require workers from helpers through Journeymen level, each project will need anywhere from 250 workers to 500 workers

News

Retirees...If you are drawing a PBF retirement and you want to come back to work for any amount of time, you must let the local know. Your status will need to be change to "Returned to Trade" and you must pay quarterly dues for the time you are working and your PBF payments will be suspended for the time you are working. Reference Art.11 Section 6 of the IBEW Constitution.
